All the complaints about "gnuplot not working right on win7" can be solved by installing some linux distribuition and using gnuplot in it. I recommend Ubuntu, very easy and friendly distro. ;)

for a command line tool, gnuplot is reasonably simple yet powerful.

Under Win 7 and gnuplot 4.4.2, wxt terminal seems to freeze the app. I had to change to windows terminal. The same effect under Slackware 13.1, I had to change to X11 terminal.

I <3 GnuPlot
But it isn't that userfriendly. I use Windows 7 and for some reason the help funktion is disabled^^
And saving images is a pain in the a**.
But it was usefull many times and is a true pal
