  • Arja Saijonmaa

  • The lead singer is Arja Saijonmaa, who is a Finnish singer/actress, living nowadays mostly in Sweden. She has made a lot of excellent recordings in many languages. Wonderful! What a shame that she's not mentioned even in tags... She certainly deserves it.

  • I do it

  • Fantastic. I know this voice: Is she from Greece?. What s this song? Is it about Pablo Neruda?. Sorry for my questions but i d be very happy if someone answered.

  • She is Arja Saijonmaa, from Sweden. This song is on poems of Pablo Neruda. The poems deal with the conquest and commercial operation of sudamerica.

  • Excellente video, theodorakis es unico, tienes algo de Estado de Sitio o Z?

  • No, solamente tengo este concierto completo. Cuando pueda subiré otras partes.

  • aufgehen in diesem gesang

  • kammia metafrash paizei?

  • This is from Nobel Prize Winner Pablo Nerudas Canto General poetry suite set to music. Soloist: Arja Saijonmaa from Finland. Theodorakis, Victor Jara and Finnish tango counts as her best work...

  • xR45MU5x: Yes, there are some. I found a decent German recording through Amazon. Canto General is a truly magnificent piece of music. By the way I once heard Arjo Saijonmaa sing parts of Canto General live, and she is great! Greece meets Chile meets Finland.

  • Is there any studio album for those songs, I would love to hear this in better quality :)

  • Viva una America Latina revolucionaria!

    Viva Neruda!

    Viva El Che!

    Viva Bolivar!

    Viva Zapata!

    Vivan los libertadores!

  • Aquí viene el árbol, el árbol

de la tormenta, el árbol del pueblo.

De la tierra suben sus héroes

como las hojas por la savia,

y el viento estrella los follajes

    de muchedumbre rumorosa,

    hasta que cae la semilla

del pan otra vez a la tierra.
