awesome.

@Aussie50 look on ebay, people sell them by the pound for platinum and precious metal recovery
-
imagine a hard drive inside the exhaust port of a jet engine...
that is what this is like but worse...
-
@Aussie50 Thanks:) , keep it up.

Indeed. I lost over a terabyte of data due to the (WD) drive "bricking" itself
A programing bug in the chip that controlled it sent a surge of power to everything but the motor. So it still spooled up, just the data was lost =C

You are correct, it is Al.

i totally want one of those!

surprising how long the label lasted... :)

That yellow canesster is a MAPP gas torch. That stuff burns MUCH hotter than propane, just as ascetalene does. Want to melt a harddrive? Well you should have used that, NOT the propane one, cause that MAPP gas torch would have melted it a LOT quicker.

@BenHutchinson1 lol Mapp is a lot hotter but the torch nozzle is so small it would have struggled to burn the HDD as the massive propane one did!
plus I get propane for free so I aint spending $20 on mapp burning one HDD

@m3sca1 what sort of metal? I've always shredded them and tossed the bits in the ally bin

Ive got a couple of these torches, i mainly use them for freeing up stubborn uni joints and bolts, bit of heat solves all problems ;) neither of mine are regulated either.
