Off Duty NYPD Officer blocks fire hydrant while shopping

April 19th, 2009 . An off-duty NYPD officer parks his personal vehicle blocking a fire hydrant in violation of NYC parking rule 4-08 (e) (2) while going shopping with his family.

He puts his NYPD placard in the windshield as part of his scam.Since police officers have an agreement that they don't write summonses to each other, he thinks he can get away with endangering peoples lives by blocking a fire hydrant while he takes his family on a shopping trip.

His placard, # 5470085 was issued to him so that he can park in front of his precinct in an area reserved only for police vehicles.It is not intended to be used for personal business.Using a placard improperly is a violation of New York Penal Law 195.00 (official misconduct)

The Brooklyn North Narcotics Division is located inside the 83rd precinct which is at 480 Knickerbocker Avenue in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn.

This incident occurred opposite 472 86th St , which is over 12 miles away from the 83rd precinct.

When this off duty officer noticed my camera he ran up to me and tried to intimidate me.He shoved me, pulled my arm, and attempted to grab the camera from my hand, which violated New York Penal Law 110.00, 145.05,240.26, (attempted criminal mischief, harassment 2nd degree)

While the officer was attempting to extirpate my camera, his female accomplice was trying to hide the NYPD placard.She was not aware that I had already photographed it while they were in the store.

When I reminded him that he is not allowed to touch me, he replied "I didnt touch you, I just put my hand in the air and you ran into my hand"

My video clearly shows he is a liar.

To make things worse, as he was driving away he opened his window and said " I am going to make a u-turn now too". And he then proceeded to make a dangerous illegal u-turn which obstructed the flow of traffic in violation of NYC Traffic Rules section 4-05 (b)

I would like to remind all law enforcement officers that NOBODY IS ABOVE THE LAW !

@wikiwai Fuck you, he is free to do whatever he wants as long as he doesn't hurt anybody. He is exposing the arrogance of all police officers that because they have the privilege to carry a gun they think they can do whatever they want and feel as if they were above the law. Being a police officer means to be a role model, being a citizen that obeys and makes others obey the law. I hope that same officer pulls you over and gives you a ticket and let's see if you keep defending his arrogant ass!
