Since signing with Universal Records in 2000, Mississippi rockers 3 Doors Down have shared the success that most bands dream about. With hit songs like Kryptonite, When I'm Gone and Here without you, combined with notable concerts including a performance aboard a US Navy Aircraft carrier, 3 Doors Down have made their mark in the music world. Building on the band's success, 3DD guitarist Chris Henderson co-founded Rock Ridge music. When not touring, Chris spends most of his time in the studio developing and recording new bands in his Mississippi studio. PreSonus met Chris to discuss his arsenal of PreSonus Preamps, including the ADL 600:

"I use the ADL for acoustic guitars, overhead and bass. From the moment I flipped the switch I knew my search was over. The ADL is perfect. It gets the tone I've always dreamed about on acoustics, I don't need to look any further." Chris continues,

"It comes through every time. When I'm not happy with the sound I'm getting with my acoustic or bass, I go to the ADL and the problem is solved. Everything I need is in this preamp."

  • Respond to this video... stop with acoustic guitar & mics already, how about electric guitar recording tips, it is the 2nd millennium after all...geez!

  • I'm pretty sure the U87 sounds better than ADL600 DI... My Shure SM81 is Heaven with my Taylor.

  • @alkis110 its a Custom Taylor 814ce its looks like. Idk, just another fancy "looking" guitar

  • hmmm.....plugging a Taylor into a Presonus ADL600 seems to confuse me. Why is he not micing it up? that is really going to sound better than it being mic'ed with a condenser and then though the ADL600? Hardly doubt the ES System in a Taylor will sound better than it being mic'ed. Then again, Taylor does not sound good mic'ed compared to a Martin or Collings.

  • This is a great piece of great -- and indeed, wonderful on acoustic, however: this is some rigged bullshit. If the guy has something to say, let him say it as a human being... not a marketing buoy.

  • douchbag. looks like yeti..
