Our next President of the United States, also known as President-Elect Barack Obama embraces, rather than rejects, technology. He has begun a weekly internet address, which appears right here on YouTube. I am terribly excited about Obama as a political figure.

Let me be clear, there is a fundamental difference between our president-elect and the current administration, in fact all past administrations. Obama will be the first sitting president to have a laptop in the oval office. It is hard to believe that it took until January of 2009 to have a president that is in touch enough with the times to have a laptop in the oval office of the White House! I actually didn't even mention this fact in the video, so just a little bonus nugget for you readers to keep you coming back for more. In fact, here is another nugget not in the video. Obama will have to give up his Blackberry. Obama is apparently best contacted by e-mail and has been frequently seen checking his Blackberry. Unfortunately, he will have to give it up, because it is a trackable device, therefore posing a security risk to our new President.

He appeared on 60 minutes last Sunday. When asked what the hardest thing to adjust to he said "not being able to go for walks." He pointed out that he was not complaining, as it goes with the territory, just that he would never get used to not being able to simply go out for a walk. (Another nugget not mentioned in the video) Gosh, I had enough material for a whole other video... but no, this information is reserved for my faithful description readers. Can you tell I just had my morning mocha?

So, this video. I basically point out and discuss how excited I am about Barack Obama, and his willingness to get to work before he has taken office. He embraces technology, he communicates directly to the people, he is highly educated and intelligent, decisions are well thought out, and most importantly I believe he has the best interest of the American PEOPLE in mind. Yes, the people, not corporate officers, not energy providers, not foreign investors, but actually the American people... a refreshing change indeed.

"Let me be clear, our country is facing great challenges..." and I don't expect President Obama to be able to solve every problem, or to be without mistake, but I do expect an exciting, and interesting presidency in which he attempts to solve problems in new ways not before attempted in this country. I expect him to have perspectives never before considered by presidents of this great country... and most of all I believe that he is truly a leader of the people and for the people.

OK, enough of the Obama love-fest already! The stock market is plunging, unemployment is soaring, the auto industry is on the brink of collapse, pirates are on the move... so it is time to get to work. Can we fix these problems and get our country back on track? YES WE CAN!

Oh yea, I almost forgot here is the YouTube channel where the Weekly Address from the President-Elect can be found:

  • Jim Barack Jones really got to this guy

"and most importantly I believe he has the best interest of the American PEOPLE in mind. Yes, the people, not corporate officers, not energy providers, not foreign investors, but actually the American people..."

are you SURE about that? With he and his wife both on the council of foreign relations? Plus, I don't personally see his record as one of a true proprieter of change. i think if you tell ppl something over and over, they'll believe it.

  • You certainly may be correct. I am engaging in the concept of "hope." At this point, I respect your opinion and only have this to say.

Only time will tell, and I certainly "hope" that I am right.

  • I got to about 1:30 on this video and blew chunks all over my monitor. Dude, you're smoked. Did you know your champion supports mass murder of the unborn? Oh... nevermind, he's going to bring change we can believe in. Like, today, inauguration day, the stock market tanked 300+ points and oil went up. CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE. Enjoy as your illegal alien president wrecks out country.

  • He is a real black president-elect (Note Harold's Barbeque reference in 60 minutes interview), soon to be president. He is possibly the most intelligent man every elected to this office. He was president of the Havard Law Review, that like the top 1% of the type 1%. That not only shows intelligence, but shows motivation and the ability to relate to people with different ideal. How that relates to being a great president remains to be seen, but he promised Hope, and so far he has delivered.

  • A President for our times ? !!

You posted this video in nov and it's now June 2009. All the people I know who voted for him are saying "what the hell did I do". I've seen auto workers on tv saying the same thing. He's put our nation so far in the whole he makes George Bush look like Scrooge. He has screwed up mine and your grandkids future. You got your change that he promised. Is this what you expected. It's only going to get worse. You get what you vote for.

  • I wonder if this guy feels like a fool yet...

    You have been bamboozled-hoodwinked-led astray!

  • You mean his weekly lies....He is an absolute joke as a President...He's grabbing billions by the day from us....

  • wow, talk about out of touch.

  • Hey' who told you' that Barack was having a weekly internet address?

Oaky, who's been going around letting out the secret?

  • The fact that Obama "embraces" technology can be seen in all the new legislation designed to further censor the internet and increase federal government spying on citizens.

  • Among the top priorities for Obamas Chief Of Staff Rahm Emanuel are: the so called Fairness Doctrine which will severely limit free speech, anti-gun laws and promoting a one world economic system based on a single global currency.
