Final Fantasy XIII - Lightning's Theme (Alto Sax Cover)

To my real life friends: stop giggling. :|

Masashi Hamauzu's "Lightning Theme", played by ear on alto saxophone, from the video game "Final Fantasy XIII".

Right now I'm playing FFXIII and I'm really enjoying it. One of the things that really sticks out to me is the fantastic soundtrack. I really like this particular piece, and I was free this afternoon since it was Good Friday, so in an extremely nerdy and self-serving move that I may end up regretting for weeks to come, I did some takes with my sax over this piece. I recorded it over five times and so there are bits and pieces here from those takes.

As you may be able to perceive from listening, I'm still just a student and thus my tone isn't professional or anything; the quality wavers considerably, and you can hear some places where the pitch goes flat or is under supported. After I wrapped up the main line, I recorded it over again a little duet part just to see how it would sound, and I ended up keeping it. Go figure. The whole thing was just recorded through my laptop's speaker and compiled in GarageBand.

Anyway, this was kind of on the spur of the moment, and it's definitely not perfect, but I had a good time playing it over and I hope you enjoy it.

@AdeptOSX To be honest, I don't have the patience to sit down and transcribe what I played. I can tell you, however, that it's in the key of Concert B. From there, it's all ears.
