There is a very simple answer to why fuel prices are so high. It is the law of supply and demand. As the standard of living increases, the demand for energy in general and oil in particular keeps rising. Today, many Chinese use the same amount of energy as the western countries.

The rise in price of a barrel of oil affects all of the oil products we buy.
