Great tune! Best version I've heard. Dave Marsh can't be that big of an idiot if he recognizes this song as one of the top soul tracks. Too bad they don't make soul music like this anymore. Brilliant job Maurice and Mac!!

@recordsystems I will change the picture as soon as possible. Your dad was a part of a very emotionally powerful soul song. I'm sure you're extremely proud of him. Is he the one who does the spoken part?

@susandiane311 Thanks. You can imagine how I feel even to this day being in the studio with my dad as a child during most of their recording sessions. Very PROUD! YES - Dad's doing the spoken part.

@recordsystems Your Dad was also a member of the Radiants. "Voice Your Choice" is another one of my favorite "hidden gems". FYI, both YLTWR and VYC are ranked in Dave Marsh's "The Heart Of Rock & Soul". Out of the 1001 songs, YLTWR was # 136 and VYC was #344. Marsh critiques each song so you might want to check out his book. One thing he said concerning your Dad: "Maurice McAlister was the ultimate journeyman soul singer" Quite a compliment!
