@4C0G Seriously who cares what sub genre or pigeon hole it goes in when its this lush?
just put it in ur brains "awesome" department and have done with it.
-
Yeah actually I'm pretty sure they are.
-
@4C0G well youve flattered me massively, my comment was all my own words but if someone has said somehing similar on wikipedia i must know more of it than i originally thought ^^
-
Is reading the dubstep-wikipediapage, like you did, considered as a fully understanding of the genre? I don't think so. So who is the one who pretends to know of music?
-
@4C0G its postdubstep, dont pretend to know of music, dubstep started off as atmospheric but de generated into dance now this is known as post dubstep a revitalisation of what it was
-
quite possibly one of the best sounds ive heard in my life. it literally lifts me up and takes me away.
-
Its called ambient dubstep!. Thats how phaeleh calls it, same as on his music sample cd for people who want to make music like this ambient dubstep. Sounds like future garage but more dubstep like.
-
@audiohifi420 took the words out of my mouth haha. from now on when someone asks me what dubstep im into, "phaeleh" will be among the answers :)

@MegaBobgoblin it is dubstep you tone deaf twat, youre probably one of those dipshits who think all dubstep is filthy drops and robot screeches. FOAD
Normally I don't discuss about the gerne of a song, but to make this clear: This track is way more to the side of triphop/ambient than it is to dubstep. Why would you place this beautiful track in the section 'dubstep wannabe' if you can place it in 'Chillout' 'Ambient' 'Triphop' or a mix between those genres?

@4C0G I'm just going with pure logic here. 140bpm, check. Sub bass, check. half time feel, check. Triphop is usually much slower than 140bpm, ambient is debatable and chillout is even more broader as a genre than dubstep. You can pretty much call everything that is chilling or relaxing 'Chillout'. But that being said, Phaeleh said in an interview that he makes chilled dubstep with garage, dnb and house influences. So chillout isn't that far off. But hey, it's sometimes a matter of opinion.

Its not dubstep. If this was dubstep then probably a ton of other songs would be considered dubstep.

@blockigiffluffles Could you give any examples? And why is this not dubstep?
