  • That's an ex-UAL airplane. I'm sure my Dad had some time in the left seat of that bird.

  • @KauaiGolfer1 Bet he has got some great memories

  • is this an Orbis plane???

  • Hi, yes it was the Orbis eye hospital. Apparently the DC8 is now in a Chinese Museum

  • When was this?

  • It was the early 90's. I cant remember what year.

  • Loved the approach good pilot,no risk to anyone

  • @Coaljet Yes indeed! Airbus has already began to realise this truth. Thank you for putting your thoughts into words. AF 447 in memory of.

  • @dergrossen Nowadays, everything is run by a politically correct, bean counter mentality: the sort of cowboy originality is not tolerated anymore. The result is a policy-driven sterility that admonishes imagination and originality--things that can't be controlled. I agree that hands-on piloting, an in-depth "feel" for the machine, are indispensable qualities. So long as a pilot doesn't behave recklessly, he shouldn't be shafted for something like what we see here.

  • @AccessAir Be glad it's just an old DC8 they are taking and not your entire airforce which they have also already paid for :-)

  • @9cole9 Why the heck a Chinese Museum??? I know they own almost all the debt in the US but why an old DC8????

  • @9cole9

    It was 1993.

  • This could be a movie of the last farwell from the queen of sky. But this movie is from the early 90´s, while this beautiful queen of sky were still in service for cargo/commercial airliners. As a little notise, the last DC 8 were delive to SAS(I´m from the little country Sweden). After 556 plane buile, the last one was deliverid to SAS as Tord Viking, SE-DBL, leased to Scanair in early 1982. Nowaday´s you´ll nerver see a DC 8 in Sweden
