The level and items of your character aren't carried over into mass effect 2. Quite a few major, philosophical paragon choices do though lol. My favourite mission is meeting up with Archangel in that building and defending a three pronged assault from the local gang mercs. You feel so bad picking them off as a sniper from that window on the bridge while the squad attempts to hold the stairwell downstairs. By bad I mean really really awesome, no guilt lol.

I hope that in Mass effect 2, you can train to use weapons, biotic and tech powers

I don't have AR training, that's why I use the Shotgun instead, and it works well for me.

and thats why I'm not the biggest fan of classes in RPGs

they can still use the ar rifle you just cant train with it thats why i love the soldiers, plus the soldiers have heavy armour exclusive to the class so yeah...
