Hello sister. Good response! The Saviour Yahoshua (know as Jesus Christ) WAS NOT a physical descendant of Joseph BUT HE WAS A PHYSICAL DESCENDANT OF KING DAVID through his mother Mary. There are actually TWO DIFFERENT LINEAGES given in Matthew 1 and Luke 3:23-38. One traces a descendant of David through his son Solomon and the one through David's OTHER son Nathan. King David had several sons. So one genealogy is Mary's and the other is Joseph's; both were descendants of king David.

@Bahaminan Sunflower If Jesus did not come from Josephs line then MATTHEW & LUKE would be a mute point. Jesus geneology would read Marry and Gehova. The question is did Gehova allow MARY TO put the baby on another man (JOSEPH) so he (GEHOVA) would not have to pay child support.

Then it starts the Geneology from ABRAHAM!! now you must remember in genesis the promise is given to ABRAHAM'S seed! This is WHY it is so important to notice that the generation end with JOESPH and NOT MARY. The seed came from JOESEPH

You are absolutely correct; Jesus was not born of Joseph. He was put in Mary's womb by Holy Spirit. She also mentioned that the man has the seed and the woman the womb, and that Joseph was the parent of importance, not Mary? Wrong again! Some people think that the child is what the father is. Do they know that a child has to have both parent's genes and DNA? No DNA from mother? No baby will be born. That woman has loose marbles somewhere in her head.
