Ableism (from able and ism) is a neologism of American coinage, since about 1981. It is used to describe discrimination against people with disabilities in favor of people who are not disabled. An ableist society is said to be one that treats non-disabled individuals as the standard of 'normal living', which results in public and private places and services, education, and social work that are built to serve 'standard' people, thereby inherently excluding those with various disabilities. Please check your website: www.google.com, the type "ableism." Thank you for watching. SMILE!
Any protest against audism is necessary. You are confused between different words. You mix the words that do not go together into a stew.
One thing, you are correct. Audism can be a form of ableism. There is no term that combines all kinds of discriminatory isms. Now, racism has sometimes served as this generic term, comprising all the bad isms. Therefore, one may say, ableism, audism etc. are forms of racism, each directed toward different population groups, making each form different.

Kraut1944, This is correct way to for everyone to use the word, ableism.... it should be ableism free america, so that AGBell will recongize the word, normal people as opposed to those who are abnormal, which raises the ire of activists. Some disabled activists even dislike the term ableism, preferring to use disabilism, which enforces the idea that this form of discrimination involves the targeting of people with obvious physical or mental disabilities.
