I would like to know who they meant as Misha, Tosha and Sasha? Jasha is obviously Heifetz. Tosha might be Anton Rubinstein, but he was way earlier and never emigrated to America. I think they refer to those who came to America from Russia.

Did Ira write the lyrics? I think I remember them in "Lyrics on Several Occasions." They are Ira-esque.

Thank you. How could I forget of Misha Elman! That's unforgivable of me:-). I never heard of Sasha Jacobsen and Toscha Seidel until I looked them up. Thank you for enlightening me. I just translated a very interesting article about Jasha Heifetz (that's why I looked up this song). If you want to read it give me your email and I'll send it to you.

    Fascinating!

Is this the version as performed in England?

Some lyrics that I've never heard--some that they left out.

Regardless, a fun version of this Gershwin delight.

Can't believe I'm the first to comment. Many thanks.
