Part 1 - Feb. 1, 2008 protest at Sacramento California. A group of Native American Activists from different coalitions got to together to protest several matters effecting Native people of California like, Prop. 94, 95, 96, 97, disenrollment and why rich gaming casino tribes in California are not backing D.Q. University, a tribal college located just outside of Davis California.

The groups included Poor Magazine, D.Q. Students, Native Americans United and other local Indian people.

Group of Native American people gathered to make their concerns heard about the fact that a few rich gaming casino tribes should be funding Native American Indian colleges and universities like D.Q. University, which is located just outside of Davis California. Some Native people are protesting disenrollment in California. Many rich gaming tribes with casinos have disenrolled many members and disenrolling is a weapon used on tribal members to quell their freedom of speech and freedom to keep tribal governments free from corruption. Disenrolling is major tool used by many corrupt tribal leaders.

One speaker was a Tuolumne Mewuk speaking about the enrollment policies of his band.

  • Not all Indians get gaming funds. Most reservations are dirt poor.

  • wtf.. it's so messed up that this college is not being funded... Native Americans stand up and stand up proud... power corrupts when it is abused...

  • I know my daughter has 2 years to go for her Bacherlors and they cut her off, she cant go to a community college she has to go to a Reckonized University. We have been trying really hard, but it will take all of us not just 1 or 2 and we must be persistent and stand our ground. My grandfather use to tell me the louder the squeaking wheel the faster it will get fixed.

I dont like using Native American or American Indian. "I PREFER THE TERM FIRST AMERICANS."

  • FUCK THE ENGLISH AND SPANISH DEVILS OF EUROPE

  • So their are Native Americans in California? I never knew, I live in Sacramento and i want to help them out?

  • Maybe some of those rich Native American casinos can use part of their earnings to invest in a school to teach Americans our Native American traditions -- such as how to live in harmony with the land. Hey, maybe the president will enroll. Charge tons of money for this "education immersion" retreat. God knows, it's worth it.

  • i wish we all had casinos, get us out of our third world heelholes and make us strong again, the casinos are our new buffalo
