One clear advantage of the helix I can see as an electrician is the safety factor for workmen and birds. Having worked in a few wind farms one thing struck me odd was the piles of dead birds at the foot of regular turbines getting hit by the propellar like blades. The helix would not have this obvious problem . Great video!

How bout instead of giving the money to the banks (bailouts) we use that money to pay for each house to have a helix, then we can still watch the banks collapse on our wind powered china made plasma TVs.

A tiny % of energy today comes from Cleantech, quadruple even octuple their share of the market equates to billions and billions of revenues and tens of thousands of jobs. from 2% of total US energy to 10%. Nothing is static. Everything evolves. I for one do not want to see our great country watch the rest of the world accept the fact of changing and evolving technologies and enjoy the benefits of new and lasting manufacturing jobs for the sake of some oil and coal lobbyists

It has bad press because of the nuclear waste involved, and the lack of any fundamental disposal platform to deal with that waste.

ok this looks cool but ig you blew it up to the size needed to generate they amount of voltage that the traditional wind turbines generate, will it still work? Also what would be its decibel of noise generation, even the smallest moving part makes noise.

that said if you cold make them affordable to the average American and make implementing them simple and easy to do, there could be a market, has a funky lawn ornament, but that is it.
