  • i've tried knapping quartz but i find it way to hard, and it only seems to break off in chunks not flakes, i used to make arrow heads out of nails that i would work with a blow lamp.

  • i have once i made it out of braided stinging nettle fibers it was ok, but normally i use nylon cord ,

  • i do go hunting i haven't used the slate heads yet,i think they would work you can get them quite sharp,

    iv tried flintknapping slate but it keeps braking as their is so many layers to it.

  • slate is the only kind of rock we have around where i live that i can find easily that would suit an arrowhead. i have tons of it in my backyard as a matter of fact :P i tihnk im gonna try and make one, because i just finished my bow. its not the best, but it works ;]
