Raul Prieto Ramirez plays Duruflé Suite Op.5 (Toccata in this part), recorded live at a concert in Stuttgart Koncertsaal im Turm. The great organ is by Rieger.

  • Absolutely brilliant! For the first time I could hear all the notes of that difficult and very long toccata. Mr. Prieto, as always, plays from memory - very rare amongst organ virtuosos - with fire and gusto, a total command of the organ and a finesse which makes the music come through all those notes. Bravissimo!

  • It's completely beyond me how someone can play such a long and complicated piece from memory and play it so well! What a gift.....

  • @keanur1 I agree: Perfectly played (as always), and Raul playing from memory - brilliant!

And yes, the notes are very clear to hear, but what I'm missing here is the acoustic of a church. The room this organ is in seems to be almost sound-dead. Takes a lot of the power of this great piece and makes it only second best, at least for me.

  • Contemporain ne devrait pas signifier musique laide...hélas. je salue la performance tout de même D.BABEL

  • Bravo!!!
