the secret for this is to run like hell and have the body bent, and use the arm as much as possible, then tuck your feet and spot your landing. try to get as much speed as possible

if you take off with both feet together it may be harder to kick and get a good distance for the presicion after the kong. Usually it depends of the obstacle's height, but in order to gain power you'll need to take off with your chest and head as down as the obstacle everytime you can, and also doing it with feet split, like with 2 steps, allows you to kick with the second leg and gain height and distance.

thanks guy. i really needed this tutorial. this is one of the hardest moves for me lol

.......
as for that video of the "monkey to pre", that technique is quite horrid. its quite dangerous to pop and keep your feet so close to the wall. you need to get your feet higher then that, and pop harder + earlier with your hands. otherwise, you will faceplant
also. if you watch it again, you can see that that fellow wouldnt have any trouble simply box-jumping that wall and landing on the other, and you see he doesnt use his arms as much as he should. use your arms

id still suggest the staggard take off stance. when you put your feet together (box jump) your momentum is changed from forwards to upwards. what you need for upward and forward momentum is a 45 degree angle of take off. this, according to physics, is the optimum angle for both distance and height to meet its maximum potential. you want to keep moving forwards at the object and use the dip and your hands to pop upwards

theres one other thing i noticed helps a bit. i was looking at a clip of me doing a kong to pre there for my next vid (not online yet) and i noticed i dived from about two feet before the thing i was konging. this helps with the speed and take off, and id say itd help with the block of hitting the object your konging. im not sure if that is helpful, but id say its worth a shot.
infact, i have a friend who only dive kongs to pre, he never monkey to pres the object
One question. Do u use split foot or both feet together?

@Prieget i tend to use split feet, although ive started to dive slightly further into the kong part in my ones now. keeping your legs together, or "boxing" it, takes away most of you momentum, which looses you half of the distance
