@icsvortex665 Yes but when you have phylogenies produced by morphology studies, gene studies, areas where you find each species, viruses in genome studies, etc. It matches for each type of animal family. Parsimony means the most similarities and the least differences. It works for each family along with many other things that genes alone.

DNA molecule consists of an estimated 3 billion pairs of molecules called nucleotides. Mutations are changes in a nucleotide and have a variety of effects. Many are harmless, such as many substitutions. A certain amount of mutations are undoubtedly harmful. Perhaps 1 in 1,000 is useful, Each sperm and egg cell has several billion nucleotides so useful mutations can arise. If the mutation allows preferential survival and production of more offspring, more individuals with that mutation survive.

I am a Christian, and an outspoken one at that. I apologize for my foolish brethren that still resist evolution, haha. Thanks to Ken Miller, Im working on converting as many of them to real science as I can. If you are an atheist reading this, take heart. More and more of my fellow Christians are accepting evolution. It's just a matter of time.
