things to know: I use a tablet, with pen pressure sensitivity.
When I started recording I had already drawn my sketch, lined it, and hidden the original sketch. I used a hard 5px brush for the lines. I then created a new layer under my line layer for my base color later on.
For shading I use light shades of a certain color, and put the shading layer properties to either "Multiply" or "Linear Burn"- whichever works best. Sometimes I'll mess around with the shading color variation for something that may look better- it all depends on the individual image.
My lighting is done in white, on the layer setting "Overlay".

  • Thanks, this helped a lot! It was a pain to go and color everything in by hand. (:

If it is like traditional Photoshop, you click the wand icon, or press W, select the tolerance (power of how much it will select) and click. Shift click to add MORE areas to your selection. When you are done, go to the select menu and choose deselect, or ctrl + D. That's how it's done in the real PS anyway.

  • how do u use the wand and how do u take it off

  • Thank you so much! You're really good at coloring. ;3
