An m16 with a chainsaw for bayonnet and integrated flamethrower... I don't care if I'm to late, it's still a badass idea.

Wait, that's not far-fetched enough. Plus, it's too similar to things that already exist (but then, I was trying to think practically). You know what I've never seen in a video game? A shotgun/grenade launcher combo. Imagine a Saiga 12 in Spetsnaz configuration with a GP-34 grenade launcher (or other similar Russian style launcher that uses muzzle-loaded caseless VOG-25 grenades).

If only I'd caught this a year and half ago. I could have given you so many ideas. Here's one: A tandem weapon system (as opposed to modular), aka "repeating combination gun" (realworld ex.: Saco Crossfire Mk.1). Primary component is a bullpup assault rifle of intermediate caliber like 5.56mm or 6.8mm (alternative could be anything up to .50 Beowulf which would be semi-auto only). Secondary component is a compact integral revolving shotgun with an 8-round cylinder.
