@MyPilot747 its rare that it takes off in that direction. usually the aircraft takes off from runway 9 (which i believe is runway 10 now) going the other direction.

The prevailing wind conditions dictate the runway this plane takes off.

@emiratesA380NCL Well I can't back you up on that one at all. I saw an Air France A340 climb over the hills without turning!!
If I heard it I would not speak of it...But I saw it with my own 4 eyes:P

Problems with the engines?
Or maybe the wind's were better from runway 28? If there was a problem with the engines, I doubt you would even see the plane depart.

Well, the captain must have been confident on the aircraft's weight and confident that he could climb safely over them, also there is houses on the mountains who probably wouldn't be very happy at the AF pilot.

@emiratesA380NCL If you choose to live on a hill where planes are passing from Morning till night i think that is your choice and you should learn to bear it. Person like me would love to live up there:)
