Fuck you you stupid ignorant troll. Without its Judaeo-Christian heritage this country would still be in the moral and cultural sewer, although I readily see that's in fact where you are most comfortable.

You could at least brush your hair .

love it, well said mate.. religion should be kept out of political equality issues and we all know that the catholic church hates any kind of equality, suppression and control is what they are about and our whimpy government allows this suppression to seep into our laws... maybe its because so many of the crooked bastards are catholic..makes ya wonder what next back to burning midwifes and other faith believers as witches again...come on this pope is a joke

Fuck the pope indeed- surely Vatican City can afford to fly his fat ass wherever he wants to go. It's an insult to intelligent people everywhere that they should have to pay to transport and secure a fairytale figurehead.
Oh, and he's bringing a big bag of discrimination with him? What a bonus! Civil societies (when they can) evolve past these non-existent barriers, but religion need only crook its little finger to bring all the hatred and fears back. Shame on us all.
You have a complete lack of basic human respect for the Holy Father.
The Church has every right to select its employees in Catholic schools who share in its ethos.
Divine Law trumps defective civil law every time.

@dialyt55 I respect him in so far as he's a human being, but it stops there. I don't see why a leader of a group of people who believe in supernatural sky daddies should be given £20,000,000 or more to fund his little jolly to the UK! Especially when he's the head of one of the richest organisations in the world.

@dialyt55 These Catholic schools accept public funding and so they should accept 'ethos' of the public. Even if they were privately funded it would still be unacceptable for them to break discrimination laws. A pub in the early 1970s could legally proclaim 'No Blacks No Irish' on its doors. As a society we now would consider that a vile and disgusting act. Even though the pub is a privately owned business and the landlord may hold deeply held views, it must still comply with the law.

@dialyt55 Devine law trumps civil law??? Which divinity are we talking about? Muslim, Hindu, Catholic, Protestant, Seikh, Buddhist? As 56% of the British people have no religion (2001 census) then why should we be held hostage to these deluded minorities' views?
