A promotional video for our upcoming release "Wanna Make Him Mine," a cover of an amazing girl group recording sung by The Emeralds and written by Steven Duboff in the 1960s. Expect a single digital release in August 2011.

The music for this track was recorded live in February 2011 (all the musicians in the same room with no headphones). The girls recorded listening to the studio playback speakers (no headphones). The lead vocal was double-tracked, the back ups were recorded on a separate track. This type of recording resulted in a nice bleed of instruments into the various microphones, both in the instrument and in the vocal mics.

Instrumentation: Drum set, upright acoustic bass, two electric guitars, grand piano

  • Fantastic job! It looks like a clip from Hullabaloo or American Bandstand.

  • @stevesfalconpage Wow, Steve, nice call. I was going for a Sindig look with the brick wall background, like that seen in the Lesley Gore "It's My Party" Shindig performance.

  • L-O-V-E it. Great job girls.... go on..

  • my first thought was OMG very nice touch. having lived through that era.

  • The great thing about "It's My Party", is that everything (vocals & arrangements) is as close to the original as possible. Excellent job girls.

  • Great sweet surprise! bless youtube once again ;)

  • Fantastic. You are right up there with the Chiffons, the Angels and all the great girl groups of the 50's and 60's. I was born in 1944, so this is the music I grew up with. This is the genuine sound of the 60's. I think your version of Long Live Love is even better than Sandie's. I hope you are a great success because if you had been born 50 years ago, you would be topping the charts. I would love to hear you sing 'My Boyfriend's Back', 'Sweet Talking Guy' and 'He's a Rebel'. Must buy your CD's.

  • i love your sound...i wasnt born in that era('60s) but i know a lot about hows supposed to sound a song sorta sixties ..i wanted to tell u something bout the video "on the beach tonight" i liked your music as usual but i didnt like the dancing...i mean it looked like a "that thing u do movie dance" n i know that in the sixties (early before 64 girls n guys didnt dance in that way.).even if they tried after 1964 like the watusi the frog the jerk the swim the monkey, etc. Come to s.Florida :) urvw

  • You are absolutely ADORABLE girls

21 of my fingers are soaring to cheer for you

  • Everything perfect !

  • Love it! The work is so professional and dedicated. Thank you. I wondered what was going to happen with the last 25 seconds as the main video was fading ... and I found out -- very cool ending!

  • Fabulous!!
