If I could play football at that level, I'd play for that man. no choice, no if's, no but's. Hell, I'd commit in my junior year. I personally think you gain the most by playing for old school coaches. Some new age coaches are tooooo soft in the name of "i'm ur friend"

I'm sorry, but I still say he is washed up. What you fail to realize is that in most of those years, we padded our record with a patsy OOC schedule. The Joe of old would not have been thoroughly embarassed like he was against USC, Alabama, and now OSU almost every year. Heck, he cant even beat Iowa. The kids we need to land to be elite are going to schools like UF, OSU, and Bama. Years ago, those type of kids were the ones we got and thats why we WERE elite. Oh, and he crapped his pants.

@BassAssassin9 I agree,he should retire, but he's not washed up, 2006 11-1, 2007 10-3, 2008, 12-2, 2009, 11-2, 2010, 7-5-2010 was one off year up to now, seems pretty consistent if you ask me, and we are 12-5 vs the mighty SEC, I an penn state grad as well as my family, we take Penn state football with us always, the most dedicated fans in football!!!!!!!!!! Here's my opinion....Joe should retire. Tough to sell PSU to elite kids when the coach is a washed-up, half-senile has-been. That's why top PA kids end up at Ohio State. They want to play for a coach that wins instead of one who sits 4 and 5 star QBs so they can watch a short, candy-armed walk-on give away a bowl game with his five picks. I've been a PSU fan for years, but its time, we're second-tier and an afterthought on the national scene.

@omgitzzyou1 ummmmmmmmm kinda easy to get to that many qins when you coach for that many years. kinda like Favre. is he really as good as ppl think he is, or are his records just a reflection of not how good he is but just how long hes been playin?

but anywhoo - 400 wins or not, the program is overrated. its the truth. sorry the truth hurts...
