Loved listening to The Joy Boys on the radio in Spain as a little girl. We didn't have TV in Spain, so we listened to the radio and loved this show! Never connected Willard Scott with the show until I saw this on You Tube as an adult!
As most commenters probably know, Ed Walker continues to have a radio show in Washington, DC - "The Big Broadcast" on WAMU, a show featuring old radio shows from "the golden years of radio" - the pre-television years. You can listen online at the WAMU website.
My dad took me and my sister to sit in on their show in the studio one time. It was neat to see "behind the curtain" at how they made all those sound effects and carried on. Good times.
I never knew Ed Walker was on WPGC.

The Joy Boys were great...I can remember listening to them as a six year old curled up on the floor listening to our family's radio in 1958.

They were geniuses. Compared to what's on today--they still are.
