The greatest Olympic final ever?

Jonny and Greg Searle, coxed by Garry Herbert, come from nowhere in the final few metres to depose defending double Olympic champions (of 1984 & 1988) and seven times world champions, the Abbagnale brothers of Italy.

It's difficult to believe it will happen even after several viewings.

The last few seconds of this clip are priceless. BBC presenter Steve Ryder doesn't know he's still on air.

For sure - an almost unbelievable feat which never got the mainstream press attention it deserved. (Great photo of Pinsent lying back in Cracknell's lap after the second victory with Cracknell screaming 'you horse!') I guess I meant one-off races. Pinsent and Cracknell deliberately made things diffficult for themselves by doing that double. If they'd just chosen one of those events (- or +) they'd have cruised it.
