This is my take on Death Cab for Cutie's "Cath" with a special guest "appearance" by my mom!
Please note, I'm not much of a singer, so the vocals are pretty quiet, which is fine by me ;)
However, I will point out that the song - lyrics and music by Chris Walla- has a really beautiful message- It's about a girl named Cath who is getting married to a guy who she's not in love with- So the lyrics are from the point of observation: someone who is watching Cath on her wedding day is questioning: "What became of you? Your heart was dying fast, and you didn't know what to do." But the greatest tragedy comes at the end of the song, when the observer concedes, "I would've done the same as you."
"Cath" is a great reminder that when it comes to love and commitment, you can't just sell out; you have to follow your heart even if it's not always the easiest option. It's probably your only shot at happiness in this life.
Powerful song and one of my favorites by this group.
I hope this cover does the original some justice.

  • nice playing but a word of advice... use a mic next time when you sing. You've got a soft voice compared to the piano but otherwise it's good =)

  • you should get some confidence, your lack of confidence shows in your body language.

  • your moms a cutie

  • really good. your playing is awesome

  • great cover, but i sugest you use your left pedal to soften the piano a bit so your voice comes out a bit more

  • youre freakin sweet

  • Playing by ear is great ...it means not everything is a carbon copy and you get to put a little bit of you into it which is great :) Nice style and good technique.x

  • Ew.. don't chew gum while you sing, its dangerous and distracting.

  • hey sam!

(i particularly enjoy the glissando lol.)

hope you've been well. you better keep playing!
