Actually there's been some cases of thinkpads survivng 200 degrees celsius in an over, when an officer hid his laptop in the oven in case of robbery. The CD drive malfunctioned though.

Thinkpads are like armored veichles - They'll take some, but not alot.

@3mmoori1 I don't know about heat. But it does have drain holes, so to some extent it is resistant to water
