i was testing out the hornady sst shells. compared to the light field sabot slugs, the sst's shoot farther and straighter, i had my gun sighted in for lightfields and when i shot the sst's it shot a gewd 6inches high.

  • It has a pretty decend recoil. It pretty much depends on the gun. Mossberg 500 for example is not to shabby.

  • lightfields suck dick they might be accurate but they couldent kill a fly

  • @justafleshwound I agree, I love my mossberg cause of how it handles magnum loads. my gun's shot everything from 1-3/4" micro shells all the way to 3" ultra mag buckshot

  • @Grasshopper257 my dad did that with an older mossberg with an old all metal scope ill be damned that scope bent /flexed when it hit him he didnt even know he got hit till blood poured off his nose

  • I had a Mossberg 500 rifled slug barrel gun that I shot Winchester Supreme 12 gauge 2-3/4" 385 grain Partition Gold sabot loads out of. It was truly deadly and very accurate. I could hit the bottom of a soda can every time from 100 yards. If someone is looking for a good combination, that is a good one (and very inexpensive). I tried several other sabot slugs before settling on this one. Get yourself a quality scope and you have a deadly big game gun.

  • nice ATV, what kind is it?

  • @justafleshwound me and my dad swear upon these shells i shot my first deer with one and it went in normal size and the exit wound looked like a baseball went through her he has an h and r ultra slug gun and it weighs like 13 pounds so they really dont kick

  • I shoot a mossberg 500 20ga and was also torn between the sst and the lightfields. SSTs much more accurate but do not expand unless you hit both shoulders. In 2008 I shot 2 deer out of the same field minutes apart first buck at 211 yard and the other at 241. No one believes you can get that range with a shotgun but i droped both of them in their track. My father was right next to me and still says he doesnt believe it

  • man i have a moss 500 and bought the sabot slug barrel instead of a rifle. i put a scope on it, at 100 yards i get an 8 inch spread pattern but if i new know i would of just got a rifle. i got scoped many freakn times and cant hit shit after 100 yards and 3 dollars a bullet and recoil like a mofo and i just dont enjoy shooting it. i should of got a 308. just my 2 cents, i sure others ar having better luck with it.

  • @redstepsidetruk1 ya dude my brothers 870 has a cheap scope on it that has a very tiny eye relief and he has split open his head shoting it, well my brother wanted me to check his gun out cause he wasnt hitting on target knowing he has that scope on there i tried to keep my eye away doing so made me forget about properly shouldering the gun, i pulled the trigger and the pointed part of the recoil pad almost killed me lol

my mossberg 500 field / deer combo has a 5 inch eye relief so i dont worry

  • @hollowpoint10mm it depends, slugs are brutal, im not too sure about birdshot but, i looked at a recoil chart (never fired those rifle calibers first hand) and it says the 12 gauge is worse
