Russell Simmons: It's an honor to be here and I'm here because of the David Lynch Foundation. It's one of the philanthropic or social kind of programs I'm involved in and it's one I deeply believe in so to come and speak to you about it. I'm always talking about how we can spread this, this tool because its the basis for me of my life. You know so, I have many foundations and many charities and social and political things that I try to do but none, not even close to as relevant, as consciousness as the promotion of consciousness. The TM program is the core to everything that you can get from anywhere and I'll tell you how. There are so many books written and there are so many scriptures, and--more modern books but scripture-- The Bible, The Koran, The Torah, The Buddha Scripture, The Yoga Sutras, so there comes there's the Jesus, an Abraham, a Muhammad, a Lord Buddha and the guy who wrote the Yoga Sutras, his name was Patanjali. Different languages, different colors, different--you know everything-- but the same rap. The same exact rap. And the one thing I always like to think, that I get out of the scriptures is you are here for a simple reason, is to be happy. You got a few minutes--you are here for a couple minutes and you get your hat and that's it. And between the time you are born and the time you go is a second and in that short second you want to be happy. And contributing, being a giver makes you happy.
