How about a netboot install? Basically throwing the kernal to the PS3 from a PC?

BTW cheers for the video. If you use a GUI would you recommend a USB hub? I've only got two ports so I'm kind screwed if I have my USB drive in it. Which is why I wanna do the netboot. (also I'm pretty technologically inclined so don't worry about throwing tech words at me :P.)

@xPreatorianx Netboot is possible but you need to use an earlier version of the absetos installer program and you need another pc running a tftp server, this seems a bit pointless really seeing as you CAN use a USB hub very easily and this is in fact how I do it myself.

I've got a USB 4 x hub plugged in, with the controller, mouse and keyboard all plugged in and they all work fine.

Can you recommend an app or a way with this linux to backup bluray disks from the PS3 to a shared network drive?

how much time during the installation? my ps3 is istalling from 2hours and is at 45 in software installation why it's so slow? sorry for bad english

Well I like doing the more complicated route because I wanna figure out how to do netbooting anyways :P.
