In 1977 I was a drugged up punk rocker in London when this came out and Bowie was trying to come off drugs in Berlin.

I used to play this album constantly staying up all night listening to it.

This song doesn't need lyrics for you to know what it's about. And not in a good way, not in a good way at all. But in a bad and low way.

I first heard this when Philly's underground rock station WMMR played it in its entirety in early January of 1977 on its midnite albums segment...i was in bed planning to drift off when this started it all off. ( I remember eagerly wondering what I was to hear after the very diff Station to Station)...this floored me. i went out and bought it the next day! This has depressing sad elements to it ( esp the chamberlin part), yet offers hope in the 'rainy day feeling reprise'.
