Here's a great little project you can build in an afternoon. The kalimba: a simple folk musical instrument.

  • @armygirlspirit Yes...coping saw blades.

  • what color lsker do you use

  • @karnosbloishot Uh, blue?

  • How'd you hurt your finger during the video (shows around 6:00)? LOL

  • @projekt89130 It was actually kind of weird. As I was snipping off the end of one of those coping saw blades, the end sprang back and pricked my finger!

  • Hello steev, really like your videos and my dream is to someday have one tenth of the equipment you have! lol

I was watching this video and maybe a detail has gone unnoticed.

For an acoustically better, you should have made the box a little larger and the bottom and the lid should be with thinner wood.

Sorry my english, I'm using google traslator!

    Big hug!

  • Nirvana what a good version!

  • Are there any alternates to a coping saw blade?

  • could you tell me what i need to make i mean what things i should bye

    pleas pleas!!!

  • cool! native thumb piano

  • Dr. House?

  • where would you get red cedar for this preticular project can you order some online or do you have to go to local lumber yards. and also where did your dad get a old lathe like that the old one siting in your workshop on your work bench and cool video also

  • math is hard.

  • 1:09

    lol Hard... wood...

am i the only one laughing when he says wood?

    feels immature, man...

  • You would probably get a better sound with an 1/8" top and a larger soundboard. The thin top would need bracing. The hole in your project takes up most of the area and will reduce vibrations needed for amplification. A smaller hole placed at the bottom would be louder and richer.
