"Dance" is 1 of 33 songs featured on the CBS-TV Saturday morning series "Archie's Funhouse" from 1970 / 1971. 32 of the songs, including this one, were written and produced by Neil Brian Goldberg. This song was included as a track on The Archies' "Sunshine" LP in 1970. It was also the flip side to the "A Summer Prayer For Peace" single in certain countries.
This music clip has the correct speed and pitch as it was taken from the original film elements instead of the digital PAL master. Two episodes of "Archie's Funhouse" included on the Genius Products DVD boxset used original film elements instead of the digital PAL masters, and this clip is from one of them.
I've always noticed that the song in this clip is a bit different than the track on the LP.... more reverb or something... Ron Dante sounds like he's singing inside of a barrel. Perhaps Filmation used an audio track that hadn't finished post production or something. I'm not sure, but if you compare the song in this video against the track on the "Sunshine" LP, you'll hear what I mean.
"Archie's Funhouse" is currently owned by USA based Classic Media (formerly Entertainment Rights from the UK), which purchased the Filmation library from it's previous owner, Hallmark. "The Archie Show" and the 30-minute format of "Archie's Funhouse" (with some funhouse & side-show segments from "The Archie Comedy Hour" added as bonus material) were released in complete DVD boxsets from Genius Products.
"Archie" is owned and copyrighted by Archie Comic Publications.
I like Hot Dog doing the forerunner of 1980's breakdancing!

@heine71 For some reason, I don't remember this animation from viewing this as a kid back in 1970. Lots of reused stock animation with the new Hot Dog dancing sequence added in. Am pretty sure this is the only time Hot Dog was shown dancing like this.
