Scotland is a beautiful country. I haven't been there much in recent years, but I did drive to Ullapool last September! I also love castles, I sometimes go round the corner into Wales to find castles to visit. I love the sense of history you can literaly feel in the atmosphere around some buildings.

Awesome! One branch of my family comes from Scotland...so this is super interesting to me :) Its amazing to me that they have lasted for so many years...what history! Are most of the castles privately owned? Are there any that are open to the public?
