  • I collect 10 gallons a day in summer (California) - the water is perfect - alkalinity and ph is perfect. Tested it for metals, chemicals, you name it. Nothing in it. Outdoor garden plants LOVE IT. 300 gallons a month!

  • PimpinTheG one thing you can do for that is put a tiny bit of bleach in the water it off gases over time and will not hurt your plants or you if you eat the plants later. I get about 15 gallons of water a day and use it on my veggie garden so it doesn't have time to accumulate and grow algae or mosquito larvae. So far I have been able to water my plants in drought like conditions for free from my ac unit.

  • Only problem with the water that is produced from an AC unit is... if left in the sun it is the perfect habitat for the green slimy alge to form. That is why the condensation from a home ac unit is discharged in an area thats not a main walkway. At least here in california. Anyhow if you were so inclined u could put a barrel in your garage next to unit and collect it there.

    Happy Growing!

  • Good idea.

I live in Alaska and no one owns a air conditioner here. :-)
