Playing with the Yamaha FB-01 and some video software. Photos stolen from the Valross

Since my midi/mixing-setup is somewhat limited at the moment, the FB-01 is sampled (through a Line6 Pocket Pod) and the samples tweaked in software. Drums and bass is 100% software.

  • Someone had the ballz to vote 1 star and you didnt even comment? Thats BS dude. fb-01 IF an BIG IF programmed correctly can make some of the best bass/synth bass sounds EVER. And I know what I'm talking about. Here's a partial list of what I currently have: Access Virus TI, Fantom XR, Triton, MOTIF ES, JD-990, XP-30, M1, JW-50 and FB-01.

  • I don't think that the star was judgment over the FB-01, probably someones opinion of the video in it self.

The FB-01 sure is a nice machine. I haven't had mine for very long and haven't played around with it all that much. What are you usinig for software for programming patches? I'm currently using some old ST program and Steam, works fine but it would be nice to try something else.

  • I've got the manual, but the information regarding sysex command is rather sparse. Are there more information available or do I have to dig it out from the midi-stream?

  • This is rad.

  • I love my FB01

  • Use Sound Diver to program the FB-01. Very nice program and can be purchased as OEM for like $30.00 or so

  • PS., you cant program it from the front panel. Sounddiver or midiquest or MOTU unisyn. I've owned a tx81z and a tx802 ... theyre both awesome for basses for dance, trance, techno, yada yada or and r&b basses

    Cheers
