always thought of Casey as a boy, just had a boy's bouncy quality about him. a girl would probably be more careful, ie "You think we should try it another way, Mr Dressup? Let's see what would happen." Just a different thought, the way yummy chocolate's the best kind of opposite to delicious vanilla

Casey sounds like Victoria Jackson.

Mr. Dressup Rocks! I wish our kids could be introduced to his antics! Oh; that Mr. Dressup!
He's a scamp! I miss that assexual Casey too!

Such nostalgia. It's such a shame that kid's shows now are pure drivel compared to the classics like Mr. Dressup and Fred Penner's Place.
-
And however, on at least one episode, Mr. Dressup has referred to Casey as "He".

Did you imagine Casey as a boy or a girl? I imagined him as a boy, and he still is a boy to me. Just that the puppet's gender was never officially stated though Casey is frequently thought to be a boy. It was done that way so children of either sex could relate to the puppet, and the puppet could be whatever the young viewers believed it to be. Feel free to reply to my comment and tell me what you gender you imagined Casey as.

remember watching these ALL THE TIME. man i was young. most episodes were great, and if you were REALLY lucky, the owl in the painting would talk and his eyes would move, it was very rare, i hoped for it though.

Although Mr Dressup Passed Away I Think They Should Still Run His Shows.

@Irishstew97 FINALLY! someone else who loved the sound of those scissors cutting! Mr Dressup had amazing paper or scissors or something - they made the BEST sound!
"tape makes a funny noise when you take it off the role of tape doesn't it?"
