HERBIE HANCOCK : Grammys : Album of the Year :: Official

Herbie Hancock's influence on modern day musicians, composers, producers, etc. like myself is deeper than many people understand! That Grammy he won is not even a good enough award for the music that he has put out! He got recognition for something that was done in his later years, and they didn't even mention his old stuff...but anyways, HERBIE HANCOCK IS THAT GUY!!!!!!

Rock it is nowhere near the "Greatest" thing he's done. It was however, the most commercial. Which just goes to show you, the shittier the music, the more well known you will be.

Speaking of not honoring music, anyone who thinks the Foo Fighters deserve ANYTHING over Herbie is ridiculous. If it weren't for him and people like him, music would be dead.

I'm convinced that people that talk shit about Herbie know nothing about the influence he has had on world music. What more do you want from the guy? TO reward this Saintly man for doing an album based on Joni Mitchell's work is perfect. It's justice, it's pure, it's right.

ANd for the haters that claim Foo Fighters should have won it, nothing is being taken away from them, they are a great band. Dave Grohl is a great musician, for fucks sake he was there with Kurt. But Herbie has done so much work himself. Most people think of "rock it" as Herbies main claim to fame... FUCK THAT. "Rock it" was a fluke that the record execs. wanted for "Pop" appeal. Herbie is way more than that, Herbie is a music GOD. Go look at his catalog and tell me he doesn't deserve shit.

My biggest congrats to HErbie for his win. Herbie was one of the main reasons I became a Pianist and a Producer. Nobody deserved it more than him. He is one of THE GREATEST musicians of our time. Thank you Herbie for giving so much to the music community. I almost cried when you got it. The look on your face said so much to us that know the deal with real musicians. It was one of the greatest ever.
