  • What about those who profess no faith yet understand the history and meaning of such performances within a larger cultural context? I don't think believing in something should negate your ability to appreciate something. If it weren't for interest in these things, it might just slip into history unnoticed.

  • not all foreigners are out to see these wonderfully sacred places for "cheap thrills". you shouldn't assume that tourists are going for that reason. Just as there is a varying level of respect in your country's people, there is in other country's. If shrines were to be kept secret, how could we ever spread cultural awareness and respect. I understand your anger though.

  • Thank you, for sharing this

    with everyone its very beautiful

    and calming to me *

  • Vinniram, I know what you mean. I wish I could watch this without all the gaijjin making all that noise... And you're right; you can "not like" something but be respectful and non-insulting to it...

  • rainie yang is hot :D

  • i learned it in a class u shitface troller lol. being curious, i checked it out. ur either a troller and godlessly cynical towards others. doesnt matter, we just spent a good 3 embarassing responses towards each other. i love the internet!

  • i think if you don't like it u should just not watch it. I mean, what sort of fucked up weirdo watches stuff they don't like. and thanks for wasting your time by visiting my userpage

  • just cuz i dont like this im insulting japanese culture? go grow some perspective u little australian twit

  • so sad all those tourists are just there to gook at this performance. I think places like Itsukushi Shrine should be banned from tourists and foreigners. Only devout believers in shinto/buddhism should be permitted inside to witness this, not these foreigners who appreciate nothing except cheap thrills.

  • just leave if you don't like traditional Japanese culture. no one wants you here if all you're gonna do is insult other cultures.
