This is an interview with Indiana Chief Justice Randall Shepard who is one the panel members of the Kernan/Sheperd Report. This is an interesting insight to the mindset of a public servant who (in my opinion) either has no idea what's going on in our country with concern to the Consitution, or is intentionally obfuscative to truth and real issues. Good interview. After reviewing a few times, I think he really believed what he was saying. But, I definitely think that it is incorrect to say that we shouldn't focus on the Constitutional issues of our day during an election year -- that's exactly the time to be doing it, in my mind!

I get the smile from the Indiana Chief Justice in the end -- nice.

You must have been able to tone down some of the shakiness -- I thought there was more in retrospect.

He is correct saying where you sit determines where you stand. Unfortunately, he uses this to put the person(s) above the Constitution. This is a problem that leads to Aristocratic rule. Interesting that he further shows his Aristocratic tendencies in stating that the current system is to complex for citizens. Of course his solution is to simplify the process for us. Take away the local government & increase authority in executives removed from the people! Best simplification = one choice !?

Ok. That explains it. It's to much work, to hard for average joe voter to decide who to elect. I guess that's because we average citizens really doesn't have a very easy time figuring out how it all works or who's the best person to elect.

I suppose none. :) This is a better piece of art than most of the stuff in the new art gallery, I bet (e.g. a 1975 picture of Dennis Hopper with a cowboy hat is what my tax dollars are going for?!?) haha
