Mate, copyright is not a "little thing". While it is often applied quite heavy handed - Prince comes to mind threatening to sue for that lo-fi toddler video w. one of his songs playing in the background - it is only fair to protect the rights of the owners. BUT, imho this should only be done when there is a commercial aspect involved, which really was not the case with your MTV News clip.

I say a little thing like copyright because that won't stop me from delivering the goods. They can shut down my channel, but I'll just bounce back. I have not made a single cent off of this channel so I think that I could argue for fair use.

I'm sorry to see you go through trouble like this... but honestly, I think it's for the best. The name "NeilFraudStrong" never fit for a Lennon/Beatles channel. I mean look... there is the word "fraud" in there! Ha. No wonder. Seriously though, Lennonology is a much better name.

I use this username for everything though. It's an inside joke between me and some friends, that's why I used it here. I never set out to make a channel so I just registered under the name I register for everything with. I just kind of fell into this gig believe it or not. I didn't create my account with the intention of starting a YouTube channel about John. Something very serious happened in 2008 and out of boredom + plenty of time on my hands I started my channel.

Speaking of this copyright issue, I was wondering if you might consider making a new copy of 'Lennon Family Photographs' minus the EMI content? ;) I was looking forward to seeing it but it was gone before I got to it... DAMN YOU, COPYRIGHTS!!! I'll be lost if this channel gets deleted, you definately have the absolute best collection of Lennon archives anywhere online!

@NeilFraudstrong I agree with you and have always enjoyed your clips. The majority of us who have upped clips, including myself, inhabit some kind of grey legal area unless it's video we shot ourselves and music/words we recorded ourselves. Good luck!

@NeilFraudstrong Hey that's cool Neil. I hope you didn't read my comment as negative towards you. Just my honest thoughts. I really do think it's for the best. I understand you were explaining your situation. YouTube allows for more than one account. I would keep all your non Beatles stuff on here. Perhaps that's what's already in your plan. I know you aren't selling anything, but good "branding" is always a good idea. And good branding always starts with good name. Lennonology will be perfect.

@VictoriaHristova Yeah the whole youtube channel will be closed and he will loose everything =(, lets just hope for the best and like he said, 'it's better to be safe than sorry' so i'm going to subscribe to his new channel now =). Theirs always a light at the end of the tunnel and i'm just thankful for all the videos that he uploads and look forward to many more great videos on his new account.
