Tom Latham Fights For Iowa Flood Victims

Latham decries delay in flood relief funds - Des Moines Register 7/25/08
Washington, D.C. - It is "simply shameful" for Democratic congressional leaders to adjourn for a summer break without taking action on a second phase of Midwest flood relief, Rep. Tom Latham, R-Ia., wrote Thursday to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

"In light of past, swift congressional reaction to disasters, the people of the Midwest are at a loss to understand why Congress would leave town without addressing this crisis and providing some certainty to their futures," Latham wrote the California Democrat. He asked that the recess be postponed until some action on flood aid has take place.
