This is an good example of why our present School Board needs to be replaced by individuals who understand the value of a dollar. VOTE NO Tuesday Dec. 8th on all three proposals. $10 million dollars in new taxes and $2 million in wasteful spending. Vote at the List Avenue Administration Building from 6am-9pm (next to Listwood School) The number one goal of our School System is to educate our children and it is clear that our school Board members, Jeff Crane and Bill Domm do not understand this mission statement. What about teaching our children about the "green" initiative?

This $283,00 Leaf Dump/Compost Concrete pad is a perfect example of Governmental waste and misguided individuals with little or no vision. That money could have been used to actually benefit our students, not reward contractors and engineers with an overbid and useless stockade fence surrounding what resembles a large cement parking lot. It looks like someone took an axe and cut apart our natural forest for some ill conceived idea. Please call Jeff Crane and tell him and the School Board to stop spending our money like drunken sailors. 336--2983
You can see that the School Board voted to cut down a large number of trees on our beautiful Helmer Nature Preserve with total disregard to the Natural Beauty. I am sure Earle Helmer did not set this land aside for the community and school district so they could turn it into a permanent Dump for Leaves. I am sure Earle Helmer did not want the School District to take a chain saw to the beautiful trees and drive bulldozers through the earth. The School Board are supposed to be stewards of the land and this unique nature preserve. Instead they have chosen to destroy it.

The Board voted to ruin a large area of our preserve, and spend $283,000 on this ridiculous project. They have wasted over a quarter of a million dollars during a major recession to construct what looks like a parking lot in the middle of our Nature Center/Preserve.

You have to ask yourself, what were they thinking, and why do they have so much money to waste when we are all struggling to survive in one of the worst economies in recent memory. On top of this they want another $10,000,000 in a slush fund, $1,000,000 for unnecessary solar panels and a $900,000 roof that is priced 800% higher than the industry norm. Either the School Board does not know how to undertake a project and pay a normal price for work, or someone is benefiting on the side. Bill Domm would not allow an independent roofing contractor to look at this small roofing job and refuses to let me see the condition of the current area he wants to replace. This entire episode reminds me of the irregular bids regarding Pinegrove Center by the Town of Irondequoit. We discovered there were massive "errors" and were told by the Town Supervisor, Mary Ellen Heyman "we all make mistakes, it proves we are human". Oh really, maybe it proves we can not trust these individuals with our hard earned tax dollars. Maybe it means we need some new citizens to step up and run for School Board. I wish I could go about my daily affairs and not have to notify the residents of this Town of wither incompetence, or financial irregularities on the part of our Town Government or School Board. Remember, they were just caught by the New York State Comptroller for misplacing $7,000,000 and all they could say is it was a mistake?

How about paying our teachers a decent starting salary? Our teachers are paid one of the lowest wages in the county, $36,000. We are losing many of the best and brightest to other districts while the School Board votes to spend all our money on useless projects like this one. Does this seem correct to you? Are you pleased with this type of complete nonsense and waste?
