Well it depends
If you plant it right beside the door all they need to do to survive it is sprinting and thats what the most people are doing all the time
However if you plant it right in front of the door it will hit them for sure as the claymore faces them frontal, the only thing they can do to survive it is to walk to the side or backwards but as the most are sprinting they wont see it anyway and so it is the smarter way in my opinion...

do you realize the places that you planted the claymores the enemies could probably have seen them and destroyed them? it wasnt very smart of you to put one right in front of the door lol..put it on the side
