the lighting. Normally, the light comes from above. when the light comes from the ground, a humans face looks..well..not normal.

the sound is important too.

And shocmoments are also helpful.

The horror film should always be under exposed to show mystery in the darkness which also creates suspense.

I believe it to be the subtlety of the scares. suspense sometimes ruins the actual scare.

Nice! I think the most important elements are : 1) Be creative and oringinal 2) Avoid melodramic music and cliches 3) Be suprising and unexpected, but don't use stupid twist endings/moments that don't make sense 4) Have fun!

I was told by my uncle and he put makeup on actors and he starred in horror films. He said 2 things: 1. Makeup is always important,because you don't want to look like a normal human being. 2. Lighting is very important, because it causes a certain feeling around the watcher so they can feel a little suspense and good scaring.
