Wow some people are stupid! I have a 3 year old out of "time to zip it up"! If anyone know anything about WP then they know that there bred for this! This is whats natural to them! They enjoy there job very much! And this horse is very nice and seems to enjoy his job! Great work! Maybe ill see you in the show pen!

@appaloosasrule you training a horse is unnatural. And you're horse is not 'wild' if it's been trained, moron. If you want to live in a fantasy world where your mustang is like flicka and chose to stop being wild because it loves you, then it's time to wake up before you get hurt.

@jumperxxo Really you can get almost any horse to do this, no lie. I worked for a guy who rode/trained/owned congress winners in WP. He trained a TB who moved like this, and kept its head down, because it had been taught. It's all cue and repetition, doesn't necessarily have to be bred for it, it just helps. Anyone who knows what hey are doing can make a zebra move like this if they took the time.

Guys Western Pleasure and Hunter Under Saddle Quarter Horses are bred for this. the have natural headsets and slow gaits. training only gets them used to having people on them. i know cuz i ride wp and hus QHs

I think this is fantastic.

WP is not unnatural some horses are bred for it like my Quarter Paint Pony she was bred to do WP and you can tell be the way she naturally holds her head and by the way she naturaly trots so dont flip shit like WP is unnatural bc its not some horses are bred for it

Western Pleasure is SO NOT unatural!!! My horse was BRED to do this!!! and besides, if the horse is happy with his/her job (which mine is VERY happy with she gets mad at me and pouts in her stall when I dont ride her alot) why does it matter?

gorgeous. the only thing i wonder is how do people get their horses heads to stay down like like? it must have been hard.

@jumperxxo These horses are bred to have a topline like this.
It's natural for them. We teach them to drive from behind, holding their backs up or rounded using a level topline.

Honestly, when you even get near a horse, you're doing something "unnatural" - as in "it doesn't happen in the wild."
"Because, you know, flexing a horse's head and dramatically extending the trot is /so/ natural. Or how about that stadium jumping? It's /just like/ the wild where horses jump four foot fences with a person in tight pants on top."
That's about as much sense as this "western pleasure is unnatural" crap made to me.
Horseback riding, in fact, is "unnatural" in this sense.

@LlamaHerderxx
When you do anything in life your doing something "unnatural" Do you drive a car? Do you own a dog? Do you cut your grass? Do you pole bend? Hate to break the news to you, not much happens like it did in the wild............

Maybe it would help to state your opinion first, them make your comment. Most people don't go back and read all the posts, so they don't know how to take your point of view.
Sorry I took your post the way I did. :)
Glad you like WP!

What is the name of the device used to steer the horse? I'm trying to find one online to buy, but am unsure of the name.
